Spring has sprung!

After a tediously long wait, Spring has arrived!

Isn't this little guy cute?

I loved how the fallen flowers looked against the mulch.

Some of these look very exotic.

These two are pictures of the Merrimack River.

Isn't it beautiful? This picture was taken in front of the local campus.

Enough of that already. The skirt I was making turned out to be a total disaster. I will show a pic in the next post. The disappointment really made me loose steam. I actually decided I wasn't going to sew at all this week, however I have been working on my needlework sampler on breaks at work. I am still working on the blackwork patterned heart. It takes a very long time. I only complete about 2 squares of pattern every break.

So all week I have been surfing blogs. This blog post http://sew-in-love.blogspot.com/ (Friday, April 22) really helped me get over the skirt fiasco and I have resloved to fix the skirt. The whole post lets you step back and take a look at your UFO's. Elizabeth lists potential reasons why your UFO's may have come to be. She also offers helpful advice to work through them and eventually complete them. Now I am ready to finish some of my own UFO's. Over the next however long it takes... haha, I will post each UFO. In the post I will explore how it came to be and keep an update on it's progress.

I want to mention another post I just read earlier today. For anyone who knows Sharon Boggin you already know what to expect of her work. She has been a great inspiration to me since I started stitching several years ago. Susan posted about the CQ Adventure here. http://plays-with-needles.blogspot.com/ (Wednesday, April 27). Her review of Sharon's class and her pictures of Sharon's band sampler are amazing and inspiring. It made me remember why I started a band sampler in the first place. I gave up on it pretty quickly though. Now I hope to pick it up again as part of my UFO review.

Whew what a long post! I will get back to you soon with the first UFO, which may or may not be first. There is a lot of stitching to remove and the task is daunting. Until next time, stitch and be merry? I may change happy to merry. What do you think? Haha.
