Catch Up

Woo Hoo! Second post in one day! So it is official. My camer's memory card had to be reformatted and I lost a good deal of my pictures. I had some backed up on my computer at work thank goodness. Anyway I have a few pictures I can post for you.

Here is my very first dye-bath. It was done with easter egg coloring.

These are a bunch of spools a friend of mine at work made me. Aren't they great!?

Trouble Shooting

I know I haven't posted in awhile. I am having problems with my camera. So I have pictures, I just haven't posted them yet. Hopefully by this weekend I will figure it out. So what have I been up to?

I finished most of the hearts. Unfortunatly I forgot to take pictures before I gave them away. I am leaving a few unfinished and may give some away. I think the 3rd person to leave a comment on my blog will recieve a heart to embellish.

I went to Joann Fabrics to buy fabric for my one block wonder quilt. I didn't but fabric. I've been drawn to embroidery alot more as of late. There are many techniques I want to try. So many I've been making a list:
-Needlepoint
-Tambour Embroidery/ Beading
-Bargello
-Blackwork / Whitework

Well needless to say I chose for the moment to focus on Needlepoint stitches. I bought 22 count Hardanger and a cross-stitch guide of a couple of faries. I didn't realize how many different threads I was going to need until I got home. There are 71 different colors! Also, big mistake on my part, when I wound all my embroidery floss onto cardboard I never transferred the color numbers. So now I'm not even sure if I can use any of the thread I already have. So anyway now I've got to purchase the thread I need a little at a time.

On another note, I've finally recieved the bookmark making kit I won from Funk and Weber! So excited. It was way bigger than I expected! I have a pic of all the goodies. I am now making a small needle book out of the fabric and felt I recieved. I will have pictures of that too.

Last night I did something I've been wanting to do for a long while now. I did a dye bath with a bunck of trims, fabric bookmarks, thread and a couple of doilies I picked up from Joann fabrics. I did 5 different baths in red (which came out a nice pink), purple, orange, yellow, and teal in Easter Egg dye.

That's all I have to report for now. As you can see I'm keeping myself very busy. Hopefully I will have pictures up soon. Until then, stitch and be happy!
