Sampler Sampler

Hello everyone. I wanted to post a quick update as to what I've been working on. Little by little I have been working on my Needlework Sampler. I usually stitch during my 15 minute work breaks. This first part is an intricate blackwork pattern. I love how it looks I just don't like how long it takes.

Here is a close up of the pattern. It is really lovely! I was planning on adding more blackwork to this sampler but now I'm having second thoughts.

Also I have been working on my Band Sampler a bit. I have been filling in my chain stitch section. After I finish this part I have already drawn the next part out to highlight the event of the Royal Wedding. That won't be until much later because I would like to finish up a couple more UFOs before adding to this sampler again.

I didn't have time to stich at all this weekend. I went shopping all day saturday with my roomate. For Mother's Day my husband took me out for lunch then we spent the afternoon at the park with the kids. Man they wiped me out. I just started a part-time second job at a friend's tailor shop so I won't have as much time to stitch. However I am going to try to put some real time in on finishing up a few UFOs, even if it kills me! Haha Wow with all these samplers I really need to boost my thread stash. I've been going through it like crazy. Hopefully I will have time to pick some up soon. It just isn't easy because Joanns is not close to me and I don't have a car. Oh well things usually work themselves out for me. Until next time, stitch and be merry!

New Stitching Buddy!

OK so a few things have happened as of late. The most recent and certainly most exciting is that one of my close friends has allowed me to teach her embroidery. It turns out she loves it and she is a natural. Check it out, this is her first couple hours of work ever.

Well remember that skirt gone wrong? I took some pictures to show how crazy full it is.

That's my little guy modeling it for me. Isn't he the cutest?

Now down to business. My first UFO isn't technically a UFO. I started a band sampler after Sharon B's post about hers. I just got so inspired but then it fizzled out after I realized I didn't know where to start. The first circle is what I started a couple of months ago. That's where I got the idea to make my sampler in circles. Each circle will feature a diferent stitch or compilation of stitches.

In this case I will consider finishing one circle finishing this UFO temporarily.

I love this flower. It is called Kiko's Flower Stitch. I found it on Sharon B's blog Pin Tangle. It was under her Take A Stitch Tuesday category. Next UFO will be a crazy quilt block. Until next time, stitch and be merry!
